API reference

Put voicememotext in your scripts, apps and AI agents. Every account gets API access with the same quota as the web app — free plans include 3 transcriptions a day, Unlimited plans get 300 a day (fair use).

Authenticate with an API key — create one in your Account. Keys are shown once at creation.

Authentication

Pass your key as a bearer token on every request:

POST /api/v1/transcribe

Transcribe an audio or video file. Send multipart/form-data with one field, file. Supported formats: m4a, mp3, wav, mp4, ogg, webm, flac and more — up to 25 MB per file — hours of audio.

Response:

Errors return { "error": "…" } with an appropriate HTTP status (401 bad key, 413 too large, 429 quota exhausted or fair-use cap).

GET /api/v1/usage

Check today's usage against your plan's daily limit.

Rate limits

Free plan: 3 transcriptions per day
Unlimited plan: 300 per day, 60 per hour (fair use)
One transcription in progress per account at a time

MCP server

Connect Claude, Cursor or any MCP-compatible client. Streamable HTTP transport, bearer-token auth — tools share your account's quota.

Tools

transcribe_audio — transcribe a file from a public audio_url (max 25 MB)
get_usage — today's usage and remaining quota
